Replacing sprockets

I have an 02 that needs new sprockets. Does it matter how many teeth thy have because online I found that there are differed sizes for them.

Depends on how you ride...Most people run a 14/40 meaning that the front sprocket has 14 teeth and rear has 40. If you are looking for a better top speed or more top end power go 13/40, or if you are looking for better acceleration (even though it is great) go 14/41 or 14/42

13/40 is stock.

14/40 will give better top speed, longer gears, more time in a gear.

14/38 will give even MORE top speed, longer gears, more time in a gear than 14/40.

Basic rule of thumb, if you decrease your front sprocket teeth, youre trading top speed for acceleration. If you increase your rear sprocket teeth, youre doing the same thing.

So, 1 tooth on the front equals 3 on the rear. If you ADD 1 tooth to the front, its equivalent to REMOVING 3 teeth on the rear.

That said, I also built a blaster gearing calculator you can use to determine what you want to do with your sprockets, tire sizes, etc.

13/40 is stock and gives less top speed and accelerates faster, 14/40 gives more top speed but less acceleration, going bigger in the back puts you closer to stock gearing so if you have 14/43 that gearing is basically stock

LooKI run 14/40 soon to be 14/38 but I love speed so you see what I'm looking for 14/40 is a great improvment over stock you will definitely feel it but as with any gear head I'm looking for more power speed and acceleration.....

Currently looking into another blaster rolling chassis hoping to get it cheap so I can afford too stick a R6 engine in it. Can you say drag bike, but as of yet that's just a dream
