I have a 98 Blaster that started first kick everytime, removed Tors and now it takes like 25 kicks (No exaggeration). Anyone had any problems like this or have any ideas how to fix it? Thanks.

mines dongte exact same ting,

1998 blaster sarted first kick on cold start, took off tors few days ago now it takes like 20 kicks

start simple with your plug, woodruff key,and remove your head an see what it looks like under there...clean out you carb to,that will help...

did you just unhook it, use a kit, just a new cap???? the kit comes with a new idle adjustment screw, i used the vito's kit
if you just got a cap, you need an idle screw installed, but if you just unhooked the wires, try turning the idle up a little on the tors box on top of carb, then check that your air screw is 1 1/2 turns out, fool around with that airscrew 1/2 a turn one way or the other, till you get the highest idle out of it, then turn your idle back down to an acceptable rpm.,
<<do these adjustments one at a time and check your starting after each till you get it

I just disconnected all of the connections as listed in the DIY guide on Blasterforum. Once it runs it runs fine so I am just wondering the same question as to why removing TORS would cause idle screw to need adjusting? Thanks for feedback.

I have heard of very few problems with the tors. I have left mine alone for the last 8 years as it seemed like more trouble than benefit. The reasoning is that when I get my engine work I am going to get another carb for the Blaster. If you like to tinker around then I say go for it! I:I

So I pulled the spark plug and replaced it. Adjusted the idle screw on top of the TORS and checked my air screw and adjusted it. Each of these steps were performed at different times as to check to see if they would fix the problem. Nothing changed over any of the steps. I got my brother to try and kickstart it and he said it felt weird, after getting back on I noticed the kick did seem lighter. We took oil injection pump off about 3-4 rides ago, could something could have happened to kickstart and its just now messing up?

so what was the problem, we like to know this stuff for future references

A combination of a couple of things: it is running a little rich, my brother rides it too easy and fouls spark plugs, and I suffered a blonde moment and after changing out spark plug forgot to put spark wire back on...lol...noob move right?
