Reed Stoppers in the Reed Cage? Those are the arched pieces that you are hopefully clamping the reeds to the cage with. Or you could possibly be getting weak reeds, or moving too much air through them and they are flexing too much too often and it is degrading the material at an excessive rate. Have you tried better reeds? More $$$ sure, but how much more are you gonna want to spend on the junk you are buying now?
I have found when a piston is about to blow it breaks reeds reguarly bc the ring blow by i guess. not saying that is a problem but have you done a comepression test?
Damn, got me bro! I'll be keeping an eye on this though, so once you got it figured out post the solution, not only to close the thread but so we all learn a little something new. I:I
Next time you have your cage out, how about posting some pics? A picture IS worth 1,000 words...
When you installed the new petals, did you use blue loc-tight? All the vibration from the engine tends to cause them to come loose otherwise. Bad things can happen...
dang you beat me to the punch yep I've seen that before a screw comes out a tad but that's enough leeway for the reed to move up and down at the base of the screw for a vibration to start strangling your blaster by the throat till it dies(breaks a reed)
