reed stops?

can i take them off with out them breaking and would do anything for me if i did? as far as i know there stock reeds

i left mine off once when installing a set of "AKTIVE" reeds, and experienced whats known as "high speed flutter" the bike will shut down at high rpm's, i guess the reeds were just hanging open ???
just leave them on yours, or buy vf-3's or radvalve if ya want more juice

Flutter is when the reeds overextend and snap shut. Instead of opening fully and staying that way at high RPM's, they bend too far back and begin to flutter.

It's best to stick with the manufacturers recommendations on this subject. Some reeds don't flutter at high RPM's even without the stops because the manufacturer designed them not to. I'm running a set of vito's dual CF reeds right now. I reinstalled the stops but I believe vito's stated you can run with or without and they'll perform well either way.

In short, there isn't an immediate performance gain simply by removing reed stops and it's best to follow the manufacturer's recommendations on installing aftermarket units.

i am running vforce delta 2 reeds and i took the reed stops off. i do notice some gain taking them off. but mine have ones the you can flip for more low end power or more high end power. i didnt notice a difference in those so i ditched them

Those may fall into the category of "manufacturer designed them not to". I'm not sure which are designed that way and which aren't...
