has anyone played around with making a spacer plate out of an old reed cage ? it looks like the center can be cut out for a homemade spacer ?

but you can get shiny ones, and shiny is better..........your right though i'm thinkin for as cheap as they are every 2 stroke quad, sled, bike, ect would be runnin one if they made a differance, but hey mine works great, as i've said before mine added serious power.......after a bolted my new carb on behind it and it cleared the clutch arm
making these on your own could be hard.
you'd have to be good with a dremel.
the other issue that i'd have is that they wouldnt be thick enough. most of use need clost to a 1/2 inch spacer. adn i think the reed cage is maybe 1/4 inch max. with my vitos im still barly clearing the clutch arm. maybe a mm.

I don't see why it couldn't work. This might be a cheap way to lift a 28mm PWK just enough to clear the clutch arm. Trying to fit one to a stock intake boot leaves it turned slightly sideways.

They work good for supercross or tight trails. For us sometimes just enough to help with the right gear in corners for jumps to always be in the powerband
