How do you know when your reeds are going bad??? My blaster just doesn't have the response that I think it should . I noticed that when I rebuilt it that the bottom reeds were not closed all the way like the top ones were. It just seems like when I hit the gas it takes a second for the power to kick in. Does this sound like a reed problem???

If your talking about what I think you are, it will take a little bit off of idle to have power, because it is a 2 stroke, and it gets its power after a few rpms and help from the pipe. This is unlike 4 strokes which have the power from the get go, but dont hear me wrong, it doesn't mean 4 strokes are better by any means! 
About the reeds, Im not sure, never had any go bad, youll have to wait for someone else on that one.

yah dude, 4 strokes dont have powerbands, so its immediate throttle response, but like what 01blasterdude said, it take a second for the 2 strokes, did you maybe just not notice it before?

both sets of reeds on mine are about .5mm off where they seal down. is this normal? it pretty much goes along with russel's question but im having an issue with idling and weird firing.

if there is a gap between your pedals you can take them out and flip them to seal them back up i have done it many times and they feel better
ooooooh good to know, first thing i do today to get this piece of sh*t running is doing that.
uh oh. dont belive i can do that. my reeds are duel staged so theres a pedal on top that is connected to the one underneath it an i cant flip the hole thing over because then they would be in the wrong way. what now?

I guess I'm just wanting to know if it is normal for them tonot close all the way and will that make it run crappy. I'm kinda getting the same thing as custom89 It's kida missfireing sometimes. It seems to run a lot better when it warms up also.
russel were defently in the same boat, but it may not be the reeds. have u checked ur spark plug? i just checked my plug and i gaped it and cleaned it and the spark isnt right, it goes out sideways. im going to get a new plug right now, ill check if the new ones fine and let you know.
yo russel, go out and get urself a new plug. she runs like a beut now! its like 3 bucks for a new ngk plug and get urself a couple just incase you foul one while riding. now it doesnt sputter and fire strange and it acualy starts for me now. and the reeds still have a half mm gap off the sealing point so it aint the reeds.
