Rebuilt lower end NOW NO CLUTCH ENGAGEMENT???

Hey guys. I am new here and this was my first time ever tackling the lower part of an engine. Been around motors for long while, but never ventured this deep.
Long story short, took the entire bottem end part and cracked the cases to get to a bad main bearing. Replaced both main bearings and seals and put it all back together.
Now after getting engine all in machine and ready to put on head, i realized that the cluch does nothing now. Everything spins free in neutral and then when put in gear obviously does not spin.
BUT when i pull in the clutch lever it does not release in the cases anymore at all. I tried to play with the clutch cable but absolutely nothing. Is there anyway to take out the clutch lever that goes into the cases and adjust anything or is it something i didn't attach back when i put the cases bacK?
Thanks very much guys.

Thanks for the quick response guys. I never saw a ball bearing at all, not that i was honestly looking for one though. You guys have any pics of what it looks like and or where its located in the bottom end? thanks again.

The outer pushrod (number 18) is threaded into the pressure plate. It comes off with the pressure plate when you disassemble the clutch.

Most of the time the inner pushrod (number 22) stay in the main transmission shaft and you never see it but the ball bearing is then uncaged and can roll out of the shaft while you aren't looking. Unless you have the manual handy and flip the bottom end over with your hand under the end of the main shaft to catch the ball bearing, you wouldn't know it fell out and hit the floor until your clutch doesn't work...

Well the clutch cover and pressure plate can come back off without taking the motor out of the frame. As long as the bottom end is mounted in there you can work on the clutch from the outside.

Well the funny thing is i never took off the clutch when i split the cases. Left that entact when splitting the cases.i kept everything entact pretty much when i split them. I can't see the pics you guys have attachted explaining which numbers these parts are, as i will check wheni get home. BUTT that is great news that i might be able to fix this WITHOUT going back into the cases!!!

When you split the cases, the pull arm (number 23) and the pressure plate are separated. When they are, one of the two shafts can come out allowing the ball to roll away unnoticed.

Best bet is Yamaha. Or any online Yama parts. If you knew the size might find a suitable on at a good hardware. This is another good example why a manual is an invaluable tool. Another possibility is the clutch arm isn't in properly in relation to the rest of the clutch mechinism. Do the arrows line up?

Just picked up a polished Ball Bearing from the hardware store, 3/16ths and it works perfect all for about $0.34.

After a discussion with a few small engine builders (local ones) a treated BB will work well!
