Needle got out of the big end of the rod and shut the motor down. just thought I would share the rebuilding of it. Here we go.

1996 Blaster with an old Trinity 265cc kit on it. All bore no stroke.

This is what the head and piston looked like. The new used piston and crank on the right. The piston will be tossed and the crank put in my Blaster.

Here is the old 75.5mm piston on the left and a stock Blaster piston on the right. Shes going up to a 76mm piston.

Got her all apart.

I noticed the big end rod did a little trenching of my cases.

hahha THAT SUCKS.

i am in the process of putting a yz250 back together that did the exact same thing... sent it out to kennedypower to get the crank rebuilt and trued, cylinder resleeved, fit to a new piston, and honed. over $700 worth of parts (rod, rod bearings, piston, rings, circlips, pin, sleeve, main bearings, seals, and other small stuff for the bike like a gas cap) and labor later, it better run.

Hey Wildcard2. It is the wifes bike but I ride it more than she does. Just finished the head on it. I will get pictures up of it. Waiting on the new piston so I can bore the jug.

Just make sure where the counter balance meets the crank area is not stressed or cracked like this.

Sorry for the blurry picture. I had to reweld this and grind it down again. It works good just sucks to do.

just put all the pieces from one area of the motor in bags so it's easier to find what goes where when ur putting it all back together. and get a repair manual, there's one in the diy i think. and use good sealant on the case halves... don't do like i did the first time and use something that's not supposed to come in contact with gasoline... use yamabond or hondabond

I USUALLy put all peices from crank in a bag, clutch in a bag ect... this way you dont forget any peices. after a few builds no prob. dont lose the bb when u pull the clutch rod out and dont forget to line up the balancer dots. the only other thing that really sucks is the phillips head bolts that hold case together. use the correct size phillips and squeeze some vise grips on them so when pushing down its easier to twist them out. good luck!

Sorry I have been busy. Got the jug bore & honed. The head has been cleaned up. Should be able to assemble it this weekend. Yes, thats a 76mm piston boys and girls.

Its a Kawi 650 jet ski piston.

Got the cases together.

A little more port work was needed to get the proper degrees back in.

Plus a little more exhaust width.

I will post some finished porting pictures when completed.
