hey everyone....i just bought my friends 2004 blaster which has some problems...it has a hard time getting started and then when it does get started, the throttle is off it wont rev without it stalling.. if anyone can help i would really appreciate it!

1) first i would change the plug and try starting again and see if and how it runs. if same problem!
2) take carb apar and clean with brake clean or carb cleaner. making sure to clean everything, take the jets out clean and blow compressed air through them. put back together install clean spark plug and try again. hope this helps.-Ryan

=))
gonna sound stupid to you but check the exhuast system also and make sure no blockage.. friends blaster ( my wifes not) did the same thing and there was a mouse nest blocking the pipe

mice nest lol!!! i've seen that alot at work. on the intakes of cars and trucks or they chew the sh** out of wiring harneses. funny to me but not the customers!!

yeah i took apart the carb today cleaned it with carb cleaner...used an aircompressor and it has a new spark plug...is it possible it needs new jets??

did you make sure you could see light through the jets? if you could i wouldnt think the jets would need to be replaced

could also need a rebuild.. if the rings are toaste your loosing compression which will make it hard to start, and not want to stay runing or rev.. my buddys yz125 did that.. head and base gasket leaked.. so loosing compression

you mixing 32:1? how does it feel when you kick the starter, is it easy? what mods? need to know this. you could have cracked/broken reeds, clogged filter from the gas tank, yes there is a screen from the gas tank to the petcock. and check the spark, the boot could be bad.

i could see through the jets..they looked ok...it has been sitting for a while so the gas isnt fresh...and if this helps it is leaking some oil and exhaust smoke does come out around the head

there is your problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

your lossiong compression and sucking/ and pushing air in and out.. replace the gasket and you should be A OK

would it be hard to change the head gasket?...And also does the low compression have to do with the throttle problem?...

p.s bear with me i am new at this lol

the head gasket is a piece of cake to change just make sure you torque your head bolts down like the service manuel says. and yes it would affect your throttle.
p.s. dont worry about it man thats what where here for, to help out.

thanks alot man i appreciate it...thanks for all the help guys...il try to get it done in the next couple of days..i will keep you posted..if you guys have anymore ideas keep them coming THANKS!
