rear brakes

So my question is how do you get the old brake pads off your brake caliper I don't know how to get them off any help would be great.

completely take off the rear brake then take out the 3 allen head bolts take out the mechanisim and under that there will be 1 of the pads then look at the inside one there will be this rubber thing find something that fits in it there and push out the other one

So I took them apart but how do you get them back together?

if your finding it hard to locate it loosen or take off the cable at the top(at the handle bars)

I got all the pads in it the part I am having trouble with is the mechanism it doesn't want to fit in there rite. Also I tore apart my a-arms to paint them and I was hooking up the lower one and when I get to a certain point on the bolt the nut stoppes and the bolt spins whats wrong with it?
