I need help. My piece of sh*t rear cable brakes went out. I ended up cutting the cable inside the caliper and unbolted the caliper so i dont have any rear brakes as of now. I replaced the front brakes about a month ago which are still cable. I need someone to post something of what i need to convert it into Hydraulic rear brakes. I will also delete the need for any E brake.....

well, for my setup, and i got some screamin deals

60 for the caliper/line/master cylinder
35 for the 05 carrier
15 for 05 pegs
so there's about 110 but i highly doubt you're going to be able to get the carrier and pegs that cheap

i got 05 pegs/pedal so i didn't have to mod my old one to work

my access to a welder is extremely limited

yeah, i can use it fine....i just have to be around it....

and plus this way if i find an 03 up frame i'll be able to transfer everything over no problem

you can make whatever hydro caliper on it.....just a matter of how much time/money you want to spend to make it fit

awk wants $145 for a whole GSXR set up that is a complete bolt on. I may have to wait til my birthday to get this.....But, on top of that $145, I have to get a new caliper. anyone have any idea how much a caliper would cost with his set up???

Ok, I checked it, and all it came with was the caliper, master cylinder and foot peg mounting plate. No rotor....bummer. Mine is only an 1/8in thick. aren't they supposed to be around 1/4?

Hey Blaster200boy,

Check out my thread below. Haven't posted it as a DIY yet b/c it's very new and I'm still working on it. Anyway, I did it this way instead of Awk's kit 'cause I prefer to stay all Yamaha on this frankenblaster of mine, It's just a personal hang-up, I have no real feelings for Yamaha one way or the other.

You can probably get a Banshee rear brake set-up for ~$80 shipped and a LEFT Blaster peg for ~$10. I used the Warrior parts 'cause I had em but you can fab the stuff yourself from scrap steel and the dimensions I posted on my full build thread. You'll just have to be resourceful about scrounging the scrap steel you'll need to do it without the Warrior stuff. You can probably even use your existing right pedal if you're determined enough to cut and grind it that much.

Oh, don't use a Banshee carrier like I did. Just make a bracket to mount the caliper on your own carrier, I may be going back to a Blaster caliper myself.
