bought a 91 blaster.it sat in a snow bank a winter before I bought it.I pushed the rear brake down it would'nt budge so peshed harder and heard a pop now my pedal is stuck in down postion.rear brake is not locked up.I don't think the cable broke.what do you think is the problem thanks

going to have to look around and see.. maybe the spring that makes it return broke? have you looked to see if the cable broke? maybe somewhere in the sheath where you cant see it.

Sorry to say the cable rear brake was a big mistake on Yamahas part.
If it is indeed the spring, most hardware stores carry them on the cheap.
I know True Value has a big assortment.

I,ll pull the caliper apart.I think its seized up from being left outside.when i pressed the brake down the brake did not engage.return spring is ok.

It will require constant maintenance to stay working freely.
Mine seized up and thats what lead to my CBR600RR set-up I have now.
