Rear Brake Light Trouble

I got a grab bar with a bake light as this used blaster didnt have one. I am not having much getting it to work though. The brake light has a blue and black wire and there are 3 wires on the back of the blaster near the oil tank that are just hanging there ( where does the yellow one go) ?? Also right near the carb I found a wire harness leading to no where as well. By the foot brake the sensor wires have been cut.

? is, should the brake light light up when the headlights are turned on?? If I wire the sensor back, where do those wires go to?? Pics would be great as this black and white shop manual doesnt shop crap.

the harness by the carb looks like the tors plug. you want that unpluged. it just screws stuff up. never had a tail light so I can't help you there.

I'm still trying to find where my brake light switch goes. I found where to hook the wires in the front portion of the harness near where the headlight switch wires come out. I do believe it is the black plug as I just disconnected my TORS and that was gray. the other wires that aren't black and blue in the back are for the oil level sensor.

I can't see your pics, but is your quad the 03+ in your avatar? PM me your email for a 03+ supplement. It has the wiring diagram you need.

Oh, I see (just looked at the diagram). You must have picked up a grab bar with an 01-02 taillight. That doesn't have a brake light in it. The wires by your oil tank are Blk=ground, Blu=taillight, Yell=brakelight. You will need to PU a different light to have a brake light + obviously you will have to repair the brake switch wires.

its a 04 blaster, ya I got the grabbar that came with the light, no idea what year. But it has 2 wires coming from it with a bulb inside, what is it for then, just a tail light when headlights are on?

Yep, 01-02 only had taillights, not brakelights.

I have a problem with my taillight it has three wires and work as a brake light when the head light is off. but only lights up as a runnig light when you turn on the lights. light has all three wires. but light is not stock.

my brake light has color coded wires. like the yellow wire will go into another wire thats yellow. all of the colors match.
