my rear brakes are not working the cable from the foot brake to the handle bars its frozen up can i cut it from the foot pedol to the hand brake and rig it to work just from the foot brake to the rear?

i would unhook it from the handle and spray some lube through it try to slide back and forth...or buy a new one..
