Ladies and gentlemen......

I signed up for this forum back in March of this year when I purchased my first Blaster. Since then, I have visited the site off and on with out posting but a few times.

This was due to the fact that I couldn't get my POS running. Is it or was it truly a POS? No...... I just wasn't smart enough to figure out the issue. I was an M1A1 tank systems mechanic but I couldn't figure this thing out! If it were a turbine engine maybe I would have had more luck.... lol....

So, without further delay......

My quad is up and running like a bat at of hell. I had it out for about 2 hours today and loved every minute of it. I look forward to visiting and posting more often. I will have pics to follow.

Here is what I have:

2000 Yamaha Blaster
Exhaust and jetting are the only mods as of today.

This winter I plan on tearing it down to the frame and powder coating it. This, along with new palstics.

Over the next year I am looking to preform mods as money permits. Any advice as to different websites to buy parts would be appreciated.

I need the following sooner rather than later:

Rims and tires
Brakes

I would like to upgrade the braking system. I don't need to go hydraulic but an upgrade is in order. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry for the lengthy post. Thank you for your time and I look forward to becoming more involved!

Glad you got it running. A good site for rims and tires is rockymountainatv.com They have good prices and speedy shipping. As for the brakes, if your going to upgrade you might as well go hydraulic. Banshee, and warrior front brakes can be modded to fit on a blaster; another way to do the front brakes is to find a complete set off a 03+ blaster. As for the rear brake, there are a number of different ways people on here have upgraded everything from zx6r, and other sport bike calipers have been made to work; any type of hydro is a nice upgrade.. Good luck!!!

I'm in Richmond Indiana which is east central. We live about 5 minutes from the border. I live appros 35 minutes from Haspen Acres which I have yet to visit. How about you?

Gear head, thanks for the input. I will deff. check out the website for the rims and tires. I have looked over a few of the forums and seen some DIY tricks. I will explore the hydraulic approach later this winter!

Yamaha126....... I was looking at your pics of your blasters and came across your truck. It looks fairly familiar. I am pretty confident I have passed it a thousand times on my way to my moms. I won't call it out here in public so hit me up in IM!
