So I was finally able to get my bikes out today, had my girl on the blaster, and it was riding really good for a while then started acting weird, she said she noticed this after going through some big puddles, what's happening is it looses all power and stalls out almost like it is intermitanly loosing spark, so I started riding it, and well it would take off and fly half the time, the other half it would start to bog out in any gear, it would get a couple spontanious fires sometimes, some times it would even roar back to life but usually it'd just stall out, it would then have to sit for a while before it would start again, and it'd be really hard to start.. I can't tell if it just flooding out or loosing spark, any ideas? I'd really like to take it out again tomorrow with some friends

Take a look at the filter and intake to see if you're getting water in the engine from the intake side. Check the seal between the intake tube and the fender and make sure it's not leaking. You may also want to look at the exhaust flange and make sure you have a good seal there. Check compression.

I would also check your reeds. A broken reed petal will make it hard to start and definitely rob you of some power. Have you disabled your TORS yet?

you do know that running a hot aircooled cylinder thru ice cold water will cool/shrink the cylinder at a quicker rate than the piston and can seize it.
i've seen it happen.

I had a problem with looses power and stalling out from getting water in the stator cover after hitting a big puddles. I also had the problem with it running great and then suddenly bogging out in the top end of every gear. At the time everything but my CDI was replaced, so i replaced it and it ran good for a bit and then started doing it again. After that i replaced my Nology hot plug wire with my old plug wire that has a NGK plug cap on it, and it running good. Your problem is probably a spark problem, and these intermittent problems are hard to find.

Well im bettin those of you who suggested the stator are right, when I had it home last night I had it on its back wheels with the front wheels in the air power washing it, looks like the kid I got it from forgot to mention he broke the chain which put a hole in the stator cover, so water was gettin in there. More work to do, yay..
