random metal ring in clutch?

when i was putting my clutch back together after the first 4 or so plates there was some metal wavy ring that went on it (when i took it apart i put it back in in the same order) what is that ring for? it looks pretty pointless but i put it in anyway

its called a wave ring. you need it in most clutch kits for a blaster

in the blaster it goes in between the 2nd and 3rd clutch plate if i remember right? better look at the manual to make sure you put it together right. aftermarket clutch's dont use that.

You can use it or just put another full size fiber plate in. and ditch that ring.

yeah me too my new hd tusk kit didnt come with a thick disk just a thin for the wave ring

It makes the thin disk same size as a thick one. so you have even tension on the fiber plates- I'll see if i can get a pick of the two later.

that wave ring is kind of a spring, it is supposed to make the clutch engagement smoother

i think it makes it not so grabby for the smaller riders these were deisighend for

so if you put another plate in there as opposed to that itll grab harder? not that im going to do that ive flipped this thing backwards enough lol
