im thinking of buying some 105 octane race fuel and i herd that if you use race fuel with 2 strokes they blowup really easy and i was wondering if i can run race fuel with the blaster with out messing up the motor

i dont think it will blow it up but you wont see any performance gains unless you set the motor up for the octane. raising compresson and increas timing are good ways to accomidate higher octane.

Mix it 50/50 with 93 Octane and then premix , me and my bro used race gas in almost anything 2 stroke to clean it out some , It will not run much better with out mods , but it will smell good doing so !

If you have no head mods, then regular gas shoud be all you need.

If you have advanced the timing you may need a better octane to stop pre-ignition.

If you decide to run race gas then you will atleast want to get the head cut/rechambered for higher octane fuel. You also need a certain amount of compression to run race fuel effectively, hence getting a head done. It's a decision you need to make.Do you want better fuel, better performance, etc etc If you do decide to run it then you will also want to adjust your timing accordingly. If you ride quite a bit then fuel can get expensive.I personally run vpc12 (108 leaded) in both my trail bikes.Lots of motor work and mods done.I figure that I spent enough on everything else why not for fuel and better performance. It does get pricey though at $10 a gallon (cant stress this enough).

Race fuel will make your 2 stroke run better and cooler rather than pump gas which who knows what crap is in it.Really no performance gains unless its built. These days they dont make the gas these 2 strokes were designed to run on beeing lower octane and no lead and a bunch of additives added.I dont know the science of it but you would half to rejet most people mix race fuel with pump gas.Its just hella expensive.Keep in mind I live in cali and we have strict smog laws and low octane.Last time I seen higher octane and leaded fuel was in oregon and thats been a while.

where do you guys get race fuel? we used to be able to goto a local airport and get avgas but now they will only dispense it into an airplane (homeland security i think)
