Race fuel, how much does it cost

the prices change all the time. i know a local shop has turbo blue, it was over $6/gal, i think it was around $6.50, but it has been a while since i bought it.

Ken's redesigned head is in the mail and I an about to buy boysen reeds, with the added compression from the head I thought it might be safe, ken says 93 will do, which is what I will do to start, just exploring my options, what about octane additives?

Stay away from octane additives.93 will be more than fine.If Ken reccomends it then go with what your builder reccomends.IMO

how much more compression will it add?
and done use octane additives, they are garbage.
is there a sunoco around you? some of them carry 94, just use that if you are worried, but you dont need race gas normally for a cut head.

If you run race gas it is a gtood idea to bump up the timing also.Keep it simple and run 93 or 94. 94 is not available around me,sunoco stopped carrying it.

dude higher octanes wont do anything to help... if ken says 93 then run 93 he knows his stuff... also all a higher octane does is make the fuel harder to combust so with your redesigned head your compression ratio will be high enough for 93 octane putting anything higher in octane will actually rob your engine of power because it will be harder to ignite... stick to 93 and no octane additives... maybe some ethanol removers but thats all you need

Dont listen to these guys. You need to run the most expensive gas ever in your blaster. Find the stuff thats like 50 dollars a gallon. And the most expensive 2 stroke oil and mix it 1:1.

exactly what i was thinking, that was quite odd, i'd just run 93 like they carry at the familty express or bp, my engine is gonna be running e85 after the rebuild, should be interesting

There is a Sunoco in Midland on Hwy 12... inbetween William and King St..... they carry 94...and its like $1.09 a litre if regular gas is say $0.98 a L....

Imma say thats your best bet...since i havent recognized any of these other places people have been listing..... The kids there are super chilling too... I just live up 12 from there... so i normally only grab enough to fill the bike/lawnmower or snowblower and weed eater... they were closed for a few weeks cause of the tornado.. but they are open again..

Thanks dude, you live in midland or outside? penatang? if so i feel sorry for you hahaha. But yeh i know thats an option, the sunoco in orillia and the one in atherly closed this year, and those were my main suppliers, i loved the 94, so i will have to go to barrie or midland, my mom works in midland so maybe she can grab some for me

I live on a farm outside of midland on 99 acres.... but i grew up in midland..then moved to barrie for college...then back to this farm after college.....Midland isnt that bad if you live outside it and just go in for the stores n sh*t.... penetang is pretty gross.... but id take a waterfront house on champlain if i could.....

Ya sunoco is hard to find now around here.... and its the only one ive ever seen with 94 octane.... most are 92 around here...
