when i was riding my blaster i noticed it was way hard to shift looked at the shifter by the motor and the rod thing was sticking up pushed it down and it was fine the rod thing keeps sticking up once in a while but does anyone know what is causing this problem?

I'm not really sure what you mean by "the rod thing by the motor".

Are you talking about the shifter, the clutch actuator arm (where the cable attaches to the engine) or are you referring to something else?

I never took this apart on a blaster, but assuming it's the same design as my warrior, and most other yamahas, there is a c-clip on that shaft that's supposed to keep that thing from sliding out. If it's sliding out, then your clip is missing or came out of the groove, and you'll have to pull the cover off to fix it.

You'll need a new gasket if you take that cover off, those paper things aren't reusable. Also, make sure you use a torque wrench when you put that cover back on. It seems like yamaha makes their bolts out of a combination of lead, tin, and low grade aluminum instead of steel, they're so easy to break off if you put too much torque on them.
