question about transmissions

What year did the Blasters go to the 6 speed ???.My new bottom-end was unbeknownst to me a perfectly shifting 6 speed. My new engine # 3JM 180-440 ( I hope memory serves me but the last 6 numbers are correct for sure LOL )
