i was wondering if theres a way i could use clutch springs some how under the handle bar clamps to make it like a anti vibe?

mine antivibe stem doesn't use springs.

also on a stock clamp, not sure how putting springs on the bottom of the clamp around the bolts will help. seems like it would make the clamp loose.

if you want to reduce vibration in the bar, you can do a easy trick of plugging on end with chalk, fill it with sand then plug the other end. then wrap the bar where it is clamped out a rubber from like a mud flap or maybe even a rad hose that fit the bar perfectly. the rubber will help dampened some of the vibration, just needs to be good rubber or it will fall apart over time.

i am using 2 sets of clamps... for risers. so i was wondering if i could put the springs between the factory clamp and the bottom of the 2 clamps that are like my risers. get what im saying?

that might work. but you dont want the springs to have too much play or it will feel like your bars are loose.

if that doesn't work out, you could do what i was saying, but put the rubber piece between the two clamps. i did this with my quad when i put my handlebar lights on. still haven't rode it yet though.

i will take a picture of it to show you.

alright, first i have to figure out my brake situation. i put my +3 arms on yesterday and i was going to run factory cable brakes. well i didnt take into account the arms are 3 inches wider. well my cables need to be 3 inches longer also. i am out of money on my build so its either run without front brakes, or switch to hydro somehow

you can ride around the yard easy without fronts. but i wouldn't trail ride or anything without fronts.

and i would suggest switching to hydros.

yeah i have NEVER had a problem with cable brakes. i just dont know if its worth my time to switch. i guess i will have to.

i might try it and post my ride report when i actually get to ride it.

Don't go too hog wild, just thinking of the mechanics of it sounds like a accident waiting to happen, wear a helmet please!

I just don't see how the bars will stay tight enough. Good luck and be careful, we don't need to loose any members!

yes i have tried it. i put the front end back together and my brake cables would barely go into the splitter. i was able to force them in there and then when i turned my bars, the brakes would lock up. i adjusted the wing nuts all the way out on the brakes, and it still wouldnt fit. so i just took the disk brake hubs off my raptor, and put one side on. the ball joints on the a arms were too big to fit into the spindle on the raptor, so i had to break out the handy dremel and bore out the holes on the spindles. took me 2 hours, so when i do the other side, i will try something different. and i dont own a helmet. i need to get one, but when i have cash i dont think about it.

alright. i have a lg head. not a xl head. thanks though. and i wanted to do something custom like the clutch springs. so i will try it and then if it doesnt work i will try other things.

the splitter wasnt bolted down for me, but i was able to ride on cables with +3+1's

someone at ym school made an antivibe stem for their dirt bike two years back using springs. he said it worked great but he had problems with them spring binding and sh*t. not sure if he ever fixed that problem. i will try to find his report at school monday.
