If I buy a +2 swingarm will I need a longer chain? and if I do how many links will I need? I currently have the stock gearing and I am thinking about going to a 42 or 43 tooth in the rear. I need more power for climbing the dunes as I weigh 280#'s. Also, will a +2 keep the front down enough? I was thinking that with my tonnage and the engine that I am going to build I might need a +6. This would help to make the quad more stable, give it more travel, and keep the front down on steep climbs. What so please respond with all thoughts on the subject.

im like 200+ish and I run a stock swing arm and go up hills that r straigt up that alot of pepole would not even attemped and the blaste okay I would do a +4 on yours from the swingarm shop on ebay

okay thanks for the help. I am going to go with the +4 and I can get mine modified for @$125 from a local guy. I just was not sure how far to go out with the swingarm as my primary concern is stability in the straights, jumping, and keeping from looping while doing tree shots. thanks again and I am sooo glad that I found this forum.

I just put on a +3. You will def need a longer chain. Luckily, most places just stock a 120 link 520 chain so it's just a matter of cutting to fit when you are ready. I cut off about 12 inches so a 120 will still have plenty of length for a +4 or +6.

Really, okay....and thanks for the input it helps when someone who has had a +6 recommends a +4- it is appreciated. I was thinking about the +6 because I do not wheely and I weigh 280#s, ride in open spaces, jump, and ride steep dunes. It looks like all that I need is +4 to do all of this- thanks to everyone who responded.
