Quadracer 250?

That " '87" doesn't look like an '87. It looks like an '85-'86 model with the rear swingarm and grey motor. Ask the guy for some better close up pics. If it is an '87 its probably worth around 600-800 since it needs a little work

ok i asked for them ill post them up when he sends them and i was gonna offer him 800 or trade for my blaster and some money from him? and the seat looks like its from an 85-86

My dad has one, I love it. It's an '86. It flies. I also noticed you can drift it a lot better then a blaster.

The years actually go 85-early 87, late 87-92. 91 and 92 are the absolute best. Maintenance i key on these quads. I had an 89 done to the "9"s, fully restored. As well as a 91 I didnt keep too long (no money for another project). You have to be absolute SURE to drain the powervalve after EVERY RIDE. If not you will pay for it. Anything you wanna know about them, just ask. I know damn near everything there is to know as well as can shar some parts changeability.

drain the powervavle???

i have never done this to any of my 3 q racers in the past.maybe u are mixing a 20:1???

any 87+ q racer is a great bike as long as they are properly maintained...it is a 20 year old machine that needs updated...a real good quad non the less.

I learned that bit of info from someone who has owned about 10 of them. I always did it, and it never let me down. When I bought the quad the previous owner didnt do it and it was all gummed up. Hence why I did it and recommend doing it. I ran 40:1 in mine.

If you have no trouble hooray for you. I'll stick with and advise what I'm 100% positive works.

how do you drain the powervalve? I should look into this on mine... it runs pretty good. waiting on my works rear shock right now.

o and another thing. u should replace ur rod to an aftermarket one because its common for them to bend. ive had a few friends that noticed that their rods were bent during their rebuilds. yanno just a helpful tip.

On the front of the cases, on the left side, you will see a 10mm bolt. Pull that and tip your quad to the left and it will be good. If you could get me a pic of the left side of the engine I will highlight that particular bolt for you.

No. No its not actually. My 89 was on the stock crank and rod, from 1988 (built in August of 88). No bends, actually couldnt have been any better. However it is something to check. But its not common.

im looking to get an 89. anybody build a stroker for a LT250r? plus i want arms and axle. having a hard time findin them. unless i go elka and full flight. also i wanna early 85-86 straight seat and 85-86 round carrier style swinger.....i like that style better, but i hear that style has issues with cracking where teh clamp for the carrier is. any help would be appreciated

Did you use anything to clean it out or you just let it drain out? Shock is on its way to NJ... cannot wait to hook it up.

You run it. Wait until your next ride. As soon as you get back home, drain it. Chances of getting anything out of it after it was sitting for a while is slim, but not impossible. You can try draining it now. It's not going to hurt.

avenger, lonestar, and burgard still make arms. theres no prices on avengers website. lonestars are outrageous on everything. and burgard is really affordable. regular +2+1 arms are around 400. they make long travel arms. they are 630 bare, 650 silvervein. and still chaper than lsr's arms. lsr's round carrier swingarm is 1200!!!! burgards is like 7 or 8.

durablue still makes axles, as well as lsr.

prodesign still has cool heads found 1 for $173

blingstar makes a iron cross bumper its $94 and black

crankworks will make a stroker crank thats trued and welded for 365.

did some research and searching around.....so heres all the parts you may want for an LT250r...elka and works shocks are still available too..might be best to try and snag a used set..

give me your email and i can send them to you... no good at posting them... its a very good machine... just painted it all up and all that. I however am having trouble replaceing the needle bearings in the front a arms. It seems that the old cage is rusted into the arm. Any ideas?

by the way it is getting reassembled now. I am going to buy another one in the summer. I like it that much

hmm maybe spray some pb blaster or something equivalent, then hit them out with a hammer, put something in 1 side, and hit it out form the other, like a longer extension. the bearings are junk, so no use saving them. as long as you get them out without damaging the arms you should be ok

pm sent (e-mail)

Yeah they are soaking in PB blaster today. They are coming out one way or the other when I get home. I beat on them with a tight fitting impact socket and barely budged them. I will email you pics when I am all finished also.
