i bought a 89 blaster for a project had cylinder honed, new piston, new ricky stator new carb and new exhaust and also new reeds. im not the best mecanically had help with the carb and piston. It is very hard to start when it does start it wont idle by itself. and whats weird sometimes it idles very loud and some times it basically is bogging out with my thumb on the throttle. It is getting very annoying and costly trying to figure this thing out any help would be greatly appreciated. THANK YOU

Whelp im guessing you didnt do a leakdown test... so get yourself a 2 stroke leakdown tester, then test it and report your findings because it sounds to me like you have a MASSIVE airleak and its going to fry your new topend quicker than you can spend the $200 for another

well the air leak will make it run lean, so fix ur air leak then check ur jetting. i hope u mix ur oil and gas and not use the oil tank, 32:1 is what most people use.

whats ur current jetting? if u dont have a leakdown tester spray starting fluid at the base gasket and head gasket, reeds/carb intake etc.

all of the gaskets were replaced twice. i don't know anything about jetting also there was a high performance reed/booster fit on it and i changed it back to the stock stuff just to make sure that was not the issue as i was told that could be if i didn't change the jetting

Get yourself a Clymers Repair manual and learn how to do this stuff!! Do you mean the exhaust is glowing red ????? Or is it just hot? If it is glowing red DO NOT START IT again until you/we get it figured out/fixed. Blasters have a tendency to leak at the intakes. Did you re-torque the head and cylinder after doing heat cycles on the new piston?

If you happen to take intake apart use gasket sealer on both sides of the reed gasket and on intake boot. I prefer Permatex #2 non-hardening, cheap/effective.
