ok i just got a 97 blaster bored .30 over and carbs been jetted, at first bike idled high and would rev high when the clutch was pulled in after winding the bike out, that stopped after i ran high octane fuel and castor 927 oil @ 35:1 ratio but after an hour of run time it now idles too low and i lost top end ( keeps bogging down when i open the throttle up) any tips? bad fuel/oil mix or carb/jetting problems..... it did sit for a while so i did do reg maintenance oil change, plug, lube ect. any help would be appreciated

air leak, broke or warped reeds. have you done a leak down test and checked your reeds? usually high idle is a sign of an air leak.

just got the bike a week ago, 2nd day front wheel bearing blew, got the bearing kit put in yesterday and out riding today when it acted up so i havent been able to check it out but thats the first thing ill chk tomorrow, thanks!

also clean your carb, clean your air filter and change your plug. i had a problem similar and it turned out to be an air leak where the head meets the cylinder.

i changed the filter/plug but havent cleaned the carb or checked for leaks,it was running great i was spakin an 03 blaster that has minor work but after hittin some water thats when it acted up, maybe it pulled in some? i appreciate the help

high idle reving when pulling in the clutch hiting water then it acting up i would do a compresion test and leak down test........

thanks for the help guys after doin a leak chk and compression test and it was good on that end i tore the carb apart it was all gummed up and my plug was all fowled up, got it together made a few adjustments and its running like a blaster should thanks again for the help!

This is a stock cylinder? Did you use a high compression head gasket? That's fairly high compression for a stock cylinder unless there is a lot of carbon buildup on the piston crown/head.
