I have just went through my blaster and completely rebiult it. I put a K&N with an outerwears cover, CPW (keihin) 28mm carb, boyesen rad valves, port and polish, wiseco pro-lite piston(.020 over), hot rods crank, FMF Gold Series Fatty, with a Power Core 2 silencer, and 14-40 gearing. My buddy also redid his blaster with much fewer mods (Pro circuit silencer, Bored .020 over with a numera piston, and stock gearing(13-40). We both have 20 inch tires, and his mostly stock blaster beats the sh1t out of mine. I don't get it. I have a feeling that it might be my jetting. When I pull the fouled plugs out, they are black, with a little bit of wetness. I think that may be too rich, but the thing seems to run smoothly, but not with as much pep as my friends. Now I know that mine should kick the sh1t out of his, and I would like for that to happen. What should do? I believe that I have a 240 main jet in it, but I'll have to double check it. Please help!!!!!!!

Would that affect the power though? Also, I have the idle screw opened all the way, and it will not idle. should I go down to the next main jet size, or play with the needle. I just don't wanna run too lean.

yeah if i remember right 240 is stock size. thats a bit high

230 is stock, also, screw the air/ idle screw all the way back in and out 1 and 1/2 turns, then work with your jetting! also you should be between 240 to 260 with them mods, is your clip postion right on the needle? it may be to high! and what ratio are you premixing at? 32:1?

your pilot jet needs to be changed to match your mods and being that your running a oko/keihin not a mikuni the jet sizes are entirely different...you need to be in the 140-150 range main and a 40-45 pilot...

ya'll need to read his entire post before you start answering his question...

good catch lol

the fact that its fouling plugs, and especially the fact that the plug is wet should tell you immediately that its running rich. play with your main a little, go down a few sizes. once you got that, run your quad full throttle, hit the killswitch, and then pull the clutch in. roll to a stop, dont start it, pull the plug. a white insulator means your running lean, gray/tan means its perfect, and black means its rich

Thanks alot guys. I'll try that. I found out that I have a 145 main jet in it. I have a 142, and a 148 to play with. I'll try the 142. I'm not sure what I have for a pilot, but I have an extra that's a 45.

if pitboss says a 170 id start there and work down to a perfect setting, he's pretty much the authority on all things blaster around here...

good luck and yeah with your combo, assuming its mechanically sound, you should be able to eat up your friend....
