is it the power band when the rpms sudnly change and like it kicks a lil and how long should i stay in it cus my last blaster i busted the side of the pisten off after the 10hr or so break in period of a rebild and i dont want it to happen agan

The breakage of the piston had nothing to do with that. Yes the "power band" is when the engine had the momentem to start building power.

My thoughts are that the jetting was off or the clearance was off between the cylinder and the piston causing slap.

I love the picture you have above your name!!!

You can run it through all the gears, just shift the motor when it feels like it needs to be shifted ( Like, dont over rev it ... ) But actually coming into the powerband wont hurt it, their made to run into it.

all vehicles have a power band and if they werent designed to rev into it the world would be kinda f'ed up.
but yeah no problems should arise from revving into the powerband they call it that because thats when your engine is making the most hp.

I imagine if you didnt get your Blaster up into where it hits coming into the powerband, you wouldnt be able to pull any fun hills or anything anyways.

Its a 2-Stroke, give it hell.

The power band actually refers to the overall power characteristics of the engine. It does not refer specifically to the rpm where it is making peak power...You are referring to when the motor is "on the pipe". Like above stated, I would just shift through the gears as needed, but if you must stay in one gear, try to stay in the lower rpm range of the "powerband".

NO dont wait till the motor redlines! lol get someone that knows how to ride a 2 stroke to show you, no one can really describe it, but if you over rev it for to long, you might break something. and make sure you let off the gas, clutch in, shift up/down, clutch out relativly slow, but you can giver if you want, then gas back on. highly recomend you either just practise and see if you can learn it, or just get someone you know that knows how to show you when to shift.

dont want to go breakin things.

yea done did that lol but i think my crank was bent thats y it broke but it was after the 10 hrs or so ur suposto ride easy and i had just started getting in the power band that day and putting outa a trail busted the side of the pisten off and wedged it all up in the crank aganst the crank cast and just was like f*ck it and sold it and got a nother one
