hi guys, im new here I was wondering who does the best job porting? I just got a blaster last week and I need more power!

You could port it yourself .. There are some good helpful videos if you decide to do so.

The minimum that it needs. You wont feel any difference by maxing out the bore. You will only be wasting a good cylinders life.

ok ill probably tear it down this weekend to port it. do I need a new piston or can I run my old one? should I get a high comp piston kit? I mostly ride street.

Porting is one of those things like upholstery, roofing, and septic tank pumping. Leave it to the professionals. I seriously doubt that you have a right angle Fordham.

For a "real" port job you will need to send it out. You can do some cleaning up though. It really depends on what you are trying to get out of it. I will suggest a head rechamber along with the porting.

Only thing you can't do at home is raise or widen transfers or reshape roofs of them.
You will leave a small percentage on the table if you do it yourself.

Are you getting porting and boring confused?

porting is using a dremel of sorts to change the ports and increase power
Boring is if you blow it up or have bad compression

We understand if you dont know these things yet, but we need to figure it out so we tell you what you need to know. ya know?

That porting vid is soooooooooo old. The Race Logic templates will make a bunch more power and take all the guess work out of it. Still not a professional port job but a great tool if you want to DIY.
