Porting stages question

AC stands for ARCTIC CAT FYFI 8-|

Guess I was supposed to read ebonics. Rectum: I had two cadillacs but my ol lady rectum. Seldom: I had two tickets to the celtics game so I seldom. Time to go work on my yb and sd.

I guess I went from this : http://www.blasterforum.com/miscellaneous-16/going-full-time-37951/

If Ken post a copy of a DBA from 1993 proving to this Doubting Thomas I'll make an official apoligy thread.
Hard facts? No, Just going from what I've seen. Adds/info.

Would think his web page would say "In business 30 yrs" not "30 yrs experience", if that were the case I have 40 yrs expeience at porting, not many can say they ported a 4yr old 1968 238cc Kawi.

Took you long enough to find an answer searching all the threads for hours. If you read anything else you would understand he has been in business for 30 years and left his job to go full time at the shop. BTW the other shop you speak of works out of a basement/garage at their house. Not an actual shop or rented/owned building. So is that actually considered a business? My kids sell lemonade in the summer so that must be a business? What about a horse farm?Got any slides of that 1968 238cc K porting? What does Nam stand for?

I don't have any use for electric power transportation. F**k the environment. I want to burn fuel and make lots of noise doing it.

B b baaaahhhhaaaahhhhaaahhha.

I personally would never fault someone who works a full time job and does work on the side out of his basement/garage/shed. For KOR to have been able to turn his side job into a full service full time career over the course of how ever many years says, to me, he was doing it right. With the internet forums dedicated to every hobby, it's a small world we live in. These guys turn out quality work everyday without a word being said but let one of them mess something up or rub someone the wrong way and there will be threads all over the net telling the horror story's.

no kidding... as far as cleanliess goes demon7 nothing can be to clean so that dosent say much about the people taking care of me. when your car gets towed out of a ditch do you want the guy all clean with a new work jacket with out grease stains and rips on his clothes? Or do you want the guy who does cause he clearly has time and knows what he's doing?
So to complain about a getting back a cylinder that was already dirty isint a big deal. getting it back without a speck of dirt on it is just a curtisy from the builder. It just tells me they work hard to begin with. my 2 cents

This is how I see it...
PARTS SHOULD COME BACK CLEAN!!! No exceptions!

How hard is it to ... at the BARE MINIMUM,put it in the solvent tank for 5 minutes? If a shop can't at least do that, they're friggin lazy. I work hard for my money, and so should they.

Remember: besides the needed/paid for machine work being done correctly, presentation of the product is also important!

Cleaned parts (within reason) and some paint go a long way in promoting a product like a ported cylinder.

"Within reason" means that you,the customer, still has to wipe out the the cross hatch in the cylinder when assembling the top end.

I would NEVER send cylinder and head work back to a customer with metal chips and grit still stuck to the part, and devoid of paint, unless requested by the customer.
Think about it. It just makes sense.

it seems aweful funny to me that someone suddenly has a deep interest in "this builder versus that builder" on here.
yet has never used either builder, and possibly never even seen a bike run from either of the builders mentioned above.
(FYI....they both run great)
whats the motive ?
i've watched the snide comments get progressively worse this last month or so and it seems more like some new found cross forum bullshit to me !

"keep stirring the pot" ha ?
consider this your first warning
your next "witches brew" will send you to
"infinity and beyond"

don't get it twisted buzz lightyear, this ain't bunghole HQ or the queer collection.

You are correct on that. I feel that if he was to lazy to clean his work after machining ,he was probably to lazy to do the work right. I beleave in taking pride in your work. I work in auto salvage and we even clean the used engines we sell. It's a way to show the customer respect and that we appreciate them buying from us.

Seems like the outcasts have a new spokes person.

where's the previous spokespersons ???
oh thats right.....
i sent them to "infinity and beyond"

pretty sad when participation on a glorified chatroom, posting nonsense posts, in a nonsense thread, with 2 - 15 year olds, can turn mature common sense into delusional childishness.
