Can someone put together a list of the stages of porting that can be done to a cylinder/head. Im asking cause I'd like to sometime fairly soon get some porting done. But cant find how far I can go on 94 pump gas on moderate mods and naturaly have reliability in mind and the fun factor through the roof. I'd like you to add the charistics of it and what it can and cant be used for and of corse everybody loves pictures so if you have any please post.

I know of MX porting, drag porting, trail porting, aggressive trail porting, desert porting
Here are my engine mods full toomey pipe, 30mm oko carb, uni pod filter on the carb throat, and boyesen's PSR reeds. on a stock bore bike 66mm. When I ride if feels strong on the low-mid and pulls strongly on the top but when in 6th it feels like there needs to be more. I ride like 1/3 of a mile straights to get to my riding spot. My actual riding spot has long 200-300ft straights with a fair amount turns on flat fire trails.
Thanks guys

A good quality "Aggresive Dessert"/Aggresive Trail" will fit the bill nicely! You will not be disappointed and you will be looking for 7th gear.

Thats what I figured is there much difference between the Agg. dessert and Agg. trail? Im definatly looking for more on top than anywhere else. What should I pick between the 2 Agg. dessert deffinatly appeals to me. Dennis at flotek said he'll take care of me, 150 for port and hone if needed and 50 for head mod. Sound like a pretty decent deal? I think so.
Thanks joe for fast responce

I would like to see the different port jobs and head mods dyno'd but no one is doing that. Without some type of testing or specific specs, the term which one refers to one or another doesn't really mean anything.

Price sounds fair. I never did business with them, so i dont know how they do stuff, but ive heard go stuff.

On the other hand, ive sent 2 top ends to Ken. On my blaster he did a port n polish, head mod, bore. On my Kx he did a powervalve clean, repair and replate cylinder. Now those are what i PAID for. Ken goes out of his way to Bead blast your part, repaint, and clean it real good. He will not send it back with a spec of dirt / dust.

You can go with the cheaper price, or for a few bucks more, send it to Ken and KNOW your getting top notch workmanship.

(Good thing im not an admin, i would probably have a poll on me to remove my power for this).

I know ken does great work but flotek is pretty popular as well, the work on their website stunned me in a good way. Plus their closer and my dad got his shee cylinders ported from them way back when and supports my decision to go through them and he's a sticklers stickler for finding problems with things and was as impressed then as well as now. So we'll see and I'll obviously let you guys see it if/when I do it :D

I prefer Ken O'Conner racing for my work. He's a great builder that has done a lot to help out the Blaster owners. You don't see any of the other builders doing what Ken does for the members on this forum.

I had my head mod done by joe n it looks fantastic. Havent tried it yet due to my bike still being in a 100 pieces :( soon enough tho I will be taking it out hopefully

My buddy (orange/black bike in sig) sent his cylinder and head to flotek. Here is the 100% truth. The cylinder already had a home port job on it. The exhaust port was already polished too. He did not like the fact that he could not call Dennis. They cylinder came back dirty and the bridge was a little crooked. HOWEVER the bike does seem to run very well. He may not have the cleanest and prettiest work, but my buddy is happy with how it performs. There is no way for us to compare performance between bikes because I have a +4 240 motor. He is running a +3 stocker.

Yes, as I said he is happy with the performance. Not so happy with the costomer service and recieving a dirty cylinder in the mail. Ther was metal shavings all throughout the cylinder. Now he did tell him he was going to have the cylinder bored and this could explain why it was not cleaned up. I forgot to mention the 25 dollar tip he gave him! In my eyes you should AWAYS clean up after yourself and present a good product to your costomer. I'm not bashing Flotek in any way, if I was I would have left out the part that it does perform well.

FYI, Flotech has been around waaaay longer then KOR.

FYI.......
been around where ? blasterforum ?

FYI FALSE info. KOR has been around waaaay longer than tek. Have you ever used either builder? I don't think either will port an electric powered ac bike.:o:D Any useful info to add Larry/John?

I 100% agree with that. Anyone with pride in there work would not call a dirty cylinder a done job.

I guess I went from this : http://www.blasterforum.com/miscellaneous-16/going-full-time-37951/

If Ken post a copy of a DBA from 1993 proving to this Doubting Thomas I'll make an official apoligy thread.
Hard facts? No, Just going from what I've seen. Adds/info.

Would think his web page would say "In business 30 yrs" not "30 yrs experience", if that were the case I have 40 yrs expeience at porting, not many can say they ported a 4yr old 1968 238cc Kawi.
