ported 240 vs ported sbk

A ported 240 will destroy a ported 200... if the 200 is a stock port layout and the 240 isn't just a sleeve that is... updating the port design and layout with a 240 kit already gives it the edge then porting it pushes it that much farther... with a stock cylinder and a trail set up you could probably get 30-35hp I'd say but with the 240 and a trail set up u maybe up from 35-40hp

dont forget the +3 stroker I:I

where im moving for the summer.blasters are unheard of but theres a few banshees there.id like to build a name for the blaster and kick some a$$ prolly make some extra cash lol

The vito's 240 head is already "redesigned" with a proper quench band angle and area. The only reason you should need to modify that area is if you are installing a stroker crank without the spacer plate.

i would personally go with an L.A. sleeve 240 cylinder unless i could get the vitos for real cheap. The L.A. has vastly improved port layout. Looks almost nothing like the stock blaster ports. This greatly improves performance over the vito which uses almost stock port layout.

true the la sleeve is top of the line 100% no corners cut. But they do charge for them and you cant! find them used. Vito's has a 12 port design layout which if you have flotek port he puts in stock cylinders anyways. I think ct is for 100% fully built bike. id do a vito's,+3 crank, & porting carb reeds etc

yeah my la sleeve BBK was nice and its deffintly better than a vitos its completly redeisgned not just the ports but the reed cage, clutch holder, cylinder bolts, and it comes with every thing you need like intake and forged piston.

^^^ Y ai forgot to mention all the other redesigned features. Thanks. And the CT kit is anot my favorite. It is basically the L.A. kit with a few upgrades and it comes already ported pretty good. Atleast thats what i've heard.

ken tells me different.
but theres you(awk) and a ebay guy that sells LA sleeves and installs em tellin me they are compatible.
i guess vito's only has 3 left lol

That's why you should just port your stock jug and call it a day. Parts are going up in price or becoming hard to find for bbk. Just an opinion, Vito's says they are just waiting to make more forged pistons etc. but my guess is they never will. I used to think bbk would be the way to go, but after extensive research and talking to bbk companies have decided not to mess with it.

Here is result of my research:

1. L.A. continues to make excellent bbk but have gone up in price, and as demand lowers they will continue to go up or eventually be phazed out like Vito's.

2.Wossner is only company I know that still makes forged pistons for bbk and I wonder how much longer if there is not a great demand i.e. blasters are no longer made.

3. Vito's is full of it, I used to defend them but have found what they say they will do and what they actually do are two different things.

If you are building a drag blaster then go for bbk if not and are just using for trail riding etc. get it ported.
