Port chamfering

So I got the jug back from the machine shop, and I can BARELY see the chamfering on the ports. Supposedly this guy has been doing this for 30 years, and does good work, but how much chamfer is normal? I doubt you could see it in a pic it is so shallow. Anyone have pics of acceptable chamfer? Is it really so minute when done correctly that it is difficult to see?

Thanks. A few ports don't have that much from looking at them. I think I may have to take a file to them.

I wouldn't take a file to your cylinder!! If the guy has been doing it for 30 years, he probably knows what he's doing. What did you ask him to do?? If you go nuts on the cylinder yourself you could screw it up and make it not run as well.

Dont worry, I have been reading about it for like 10 minutes. Im sure it cant be that hard Actually, I called the shop and the guy said as long as the edge does not feel sharp when you run your finger across it, it is good. he said he hand files them and that he is sure it will be fine, so I guess I am going to run it.

a sharp port edge without a chamfer or radii will skim the oil off the rings and cause dry spots up the cylinder wall adding wear and possibly seizures ,so be sure they are not sharp edged ...vertically anyways
