polymer reed cage spacer

Hey guys I'm gonna make a reed cage spacer out of some.625 thick polymer stock we have at work. Any reason it wont work? Its used on thrust reverser systems for dc10 and 747 engines sso I figured it will hold up to the heat. Is .625 gonna be to thick? The largest Ive seen is .500 spacers for sale.

Try and get some pics up after I,m done.

dont go more than 3/8 ,itll reduce too much intake velocity and wil lslightly reduce the midrange hit

oh i.c. Well I've got some 3/8 aluminum stock at work also so maybe I'll just route that. thanks for the info.
