But I think you guys are missing my point. There are tens, if not hundreds, of millions of people who can barely wipe their own noses, let alone fend for themselves. And they want to be promised care from cradle to grave. This has got to be addressed.
The other point being our system is not perfect, but it's the best in the world. We just have to purge the corruption and hold these boneheads accountable. That means we ALL have to wake up, pay attention, and get involved. And that may mean stepping out of your comfort zone and hurting someones feelings or pissing them off.

what i find amazing is that this forum knows what its doing and does not expect the government to do everything. how is it that this forum knows so much but the rest of america is so dumb. almost everybody in my family knows what they are talking about and i mean my whole family. why cant the rest of america know anything

hehe thanks man oOo can do that too and i can build a tater cannon if that helps thats my mo instincs i have alot of family from there lol, o and u can throw any not runnin car thats not blown infront of me and i guarantee i can get it runnin, and i know how to make electricity out of water cept u need a 9 volt battery to do it scratching head lol

yea i learned that in science, im like mr van den boom, why would we make electricity if it takes more to make then what u do make lol hes like well im showing u how to make a hydrigin plant thinger and if u use a 50 gallon drum and a car battery u can make enough tio run a computer, well y not a radio lol or something use full computers not a necesity

1) People here ride a motorized toy.
a) They likely are not tree huggers.
b) They know global warming is a hoax.
c) Have some extra income to spend on a hobby/passion.
d) Have some sense of adventure.
e) Generally don't like to be screwed with.

The seat held by Ted Kennedy for 30 years in the bluest of blue states has just been won by Scott Brown, a Republican.
If that message isn't heard by our Congress hold on, cause the message is just going to keep getting louder.

First off, I apologize for my absence. I have been overly busy with work. Potentially loosing my job in 60 days but still trying to soldier on and earn my keep.........
As for the topic of discussion, I may be slightly twisted in my thought process but it's my thought process and I enjoy it!
Goverment is a great idea. It's because of goverment that we are where we are right now. The issue with goverment becomes power. The more power you have, the more you want and the harder you will fight to keep it. Look at us, we try to squeeze every last ounce of power from our machines and spend countless hours maintaining that power.
Now, who has the power in goverment? If you think it is the President, I'm afraid you're mistaken. The president is nothing more than a face. He has to be well spoken and charasmatic. Without those qualities, the people won't buy into the idea of goverment. I'm not saying he has no authority but he has far less than you would think.
Let's look at all these polls showing the lack of satisfaction or approval. Very rarely does the poll ask for the approval rating of the entire goverment as a whole. If it does, it still comes back to the President. When satisfaction is down, you change your "face" and approval ratings go up. When they go up, it's easier to push the agenda of the "powers that be".
I could continue to break this down and guide you along a path of conspiracy theories that would make just about anyone second guess what is going on but I won't.
I think Knowpig said it best, it's about taking responsibility and knowing how to provide and protect your loved ones when all is lost. America is no longer the place people come to pursue their dreams but a place to be taken care of. A majority of Americans want someone to buy their food and clothes, pay their bills and raise their children.
So...... People want someone to take care of them and the goverment steps in. This gives the goverment more power. Once their power is great enough they can push their agend on those who oppose it with little reprocussion because the opposition has become the minority.
What it boils down to is taking care of you and yours. Like G.I. Joe said, knowing is half the battle. Know how to find food when the grocery store is empty, know how to hydrate yourself when the faucets no longer work, know how to keep warm when gas/electricty is cut off, know how to maintain your sanity when the T.V. or internet is down and finally, know how work together as a team.
As for Hati, it happens. It isn't about ignoring America but becomeing a global community. Becoming a global community leads to a global goverment and supreme power. The systems put in place are nothing more than a means to control the sheep.......
Last but certainly not least....... This IS a great country! In some countries we could be incarcerated for eternity for expressing these views. Even when jobs are leaving, this is still the land of opportunity for those willing to bust their arse. I'm possibly loosing my job in 60 days and I have no fears I will not be able to be provide for my family.
Life is fun but not without challenges!
