last year a guy killed 4 officers while sitting in a coffee shop before their shift started . It was a brutal scene . So many police are being wounded and killed these days , just shows the total lack of regard for life that criminals have . The parade for the 4 killed was 9 miles long and stretched 4 counties at times . just after that another officer was killed while on duty , he was called on a domestic , turned out it was a trap set by 2 men . I felt really bad one day when I was working on my Blaster on a super hot day last july , a police officer drove up and his first words were , " you don't hate cops do you?" and he was just stopping by to check out my quads , he was new in the area , has a son and wants to go riding and looking for some spots to hit up . I kind of know how it feels in a way cause I work for the Natural Gas Utility here and if I pull up to a house in my crew truck , I could be simply there to paint a meterset for the corrosion department , and I always get asked " are you here to shut off my gas , cause I paid the bill " . Obviously no ones shooting at me , but It still sucks when you are seen as a negative right off the bat . God Speed to the Fallen Officer .

We had an incident in Athens, Ga like that yesterday. A cop pulled over a suspected stolen car, when the car stopped the driver jumped out and killed one cop and wounded another. The man that did it is still on the loose.

there is suspisioin among the community and police here that this was also a set up,

a woman went to the police dept to report a sexual assault, when the cop parked in the bar parking lot kiddy corner from the shooters house he opened fire from a bedroom window

I personally have attended TOO many Line Of Duty funerals....one as recently as last week...always nice to see the publics support...thanks for a nice commemorative post...glad to see nice words and support...

Touche. I've had to work various public events where I have had to be with the Columbus PD and State troopers and have a few family members and friends that are cops as well. Never had any ill feeling towards them and I even joke with them about the "haters". :D About the only ones that piss me off are the ones on "ego trips" and throw their power around too much and give cops a bad name.
