Ok my blaster was not shifting correctly so i took off the clutch cover and found that the shift star was very loose. so i tightened it and then it seemed to shift better. i could see the star spinning and it seemed right but it just kept on shifing around with no stopping point. so i ended up taking the star off and found that the part that it bolts onto was busted. can anyone tell me what part that is/ whats it called please so i can order it and replace it. i sure didnt want ti split the cases but.. Ill definitely have to

unfortunately the sfift star bolts to the shift drum, and if indeed broken, the whole drum will need replaced
i'm sure if ya look in the "for sale" thread someone has tranny parts for sale
just PM them, as you don't have the required posts to post in there

are you sure just the key hasn't sheared ?

here's a diagram..............
(in this one, they show the welded on version of it, there are also ones that the shift star bolts on, and has a woodruff key that holds it in place)

Thanks i found one online pretty cheap and yeah it sucks i gotta split the cases but hey i guess i get to check everything out in there. Plus i might go ahead and replace my rings while i have the top end off.

That's a good way to think about it man, it does suck but try and make the best of it. It'll be a good learning experience and like you said check EVERYTHING while your in there. If any part/parts look questionable fix em. I would replace all the oil seals, or at least all of them that require splittin the cases to be replaced.
