I have a blaster that I bought motor was bulit by trenga raciing I wanted to replace the pistion& rings but can't seem to find it anywere its a 65.97 and no were to get a hold of trenga anymore any ideas? ???

^^^^ X2.

The factory cylinder size is 66.00mm which needs .03mm clearance explaining why your piston says 65.97mm. It's unusual for them to actually print the "undersize" directly on the piston. Usually they put the approximate bore size (66mm or STD printed on top of the piston) and then make the piston .03mm smaller to allow for piston to cylinder clearance.

You just need a STD piston to replace yours.

Yup I like the pro lite it has @ some nice porting done to it and its an aluminum cylinder it runs just wanted to freshn it up a bit thanks guys

lets see pics of the cylinder. Eric was doing some crazy stuff with his cylinders and it would help to know what kind you have there.
At 65.97 you only have .001" clearance. if its a metal liner a shop can easily fit in a stock 66mm piston depending on the shape of the cylinder.
Because its smaller then stock I would guess this is a plated cylinder and cant be bored as easily... it would be cheaper to find or buy another OE cylinder then bore a plated one and have it sent out for replating

But the plated cylinder can pass off more heat so they're usually a performance upgrade.

Factory 7 sells the "Airsal" kits as a plated aluminum cylinder for racers. I believe lasxgames is running one. If you don't need the cylinder for racing, YFS101 may be correct and you should try to source a standard bore steel lined cylinder and have it ported (just to play on) and then send the aluminum cylinder out to have it bored and replated and sit it on the shelf as a spare/backup in case you ever go racing with your blaster.

Yea, I think it was renamed and rebadged. I might be wrong, but I believe it's Diamond Racing's high comp high octane engine.

I think it says something about Diamond Racing doing the porting on the F7 website so probably so.

Either way, the nikasil lined cylinders pass off more heat than steel lined cylinders but are more expensive to upkeep. Replating after each bore is a DEFINITE downside...

[FONT=&quot]Jim Winkelbauer is a great guy and prolly one of the godfathers of blaster's. Eric who owned trenga was a theif and took credit for the work that others did. Jim did the airsal kits, trenga porting, and porting for many others. He is a very qualified engine builder and everything I just typed can be verified by calling his shop number:

814 796 2066

Tell him Bob the blaster guy(bought ball joints from him) sent ya...

Yes you are correct the airsal engines are Jim's engines rebadged.
