finally got all my parts to rebuild my top end, i went to put them on and i cant get the c clips to remove the piston is there a special tool that i need, this is my first top end work so im not sure, i used some needle nose pliers but couldnt get it out...anybody got any sugestions

just use needle nose and bend it upwards, use the edge of the piston as a fulcrum, and put a clean rag around the rod to keep the c clip from falling down in the crankcase cavity

You are wasting your money, you dont need them at all for this.

There is a tool for every job, and I have most of them. You can almost never be unsuccessful in your work when you use the right tool. You'll learn this after you screw something expensive up real bad by trying to cut corners with the wrong tools. Would you turn a screw in with a file? I bet you could if the file was small enough, but you'd probably ruin the screw head in the process.

No problem sickOne

LOL, it is a simple job that you are suggesting that he spend uneeded money. Just use the small needle nose pliers in the fashon that i described and it works, simple

i try with some neddle nose but maybe i need a smaller one...it was late last night and i was just not thinking straight im gonna try today again, i wanna have it running for this weekend...i hope

when I bought a screw driver set from craftsman they had what looks like a sciber 3" long and tapered to a nice point, works great

yea thats what i did, got me some smaller neddle nose and yanked out, now i gotta figure out how to put the new one on....
