ok thank you for the quick reply,no the bore is fine not a nick in it. ill get some better pics.i plan on rebuilding the whole engine just so i dont get stranded out in the trails.then when i get extra cash im going to be a bbk any suggestions on what kind and or tips i should go about doing.? and a rough guess on price i maybe loocking at for a bbk build thanks again

I would check the crank bearings and if they check out just replace the seals. And all new gaskets. Or if your wanting to split the bottom end, replace crank bearings and reseal the centre cases but obviously check tranny bearings etc whilst stripped. Not sure on the cost as I'm over in the uk and parts are expensive over here. But you have plenty of choice on your eBay. You will need a uprated carb, exhaust to get the most out of a bbk. Search in the DIY section there are a few top end rebuild vids and tips etc

sounds good yea i plan on rebuilding the whole engine gaskets seals and bearings mines well if im going to keep it for a while.also thanks for the help man

I dident see it at first but what grade gas are you using? Cause either your carb is air leaking and or not mixing oil and gas well because The top of your piston should be a gloden brown.

93 mixed at 32.1 wonder if my 2 stroke oil was bad.i had a gallon in my boat was a year or so old

Wait, you used boat 2 stroke oil TC-W3? hmmmm my understanding is that the boat oil is designed for oil injection systems on liquid cooled engines. I would think that the oil could thin too much and loose it's sheer strength once the engine warms up.

That piston snagged a port and ripped the ring downwards into a ring land. That's a symptom of a failure of a ring (broken in two), a ring locator pin, or WAY excessive piston to cylinder clearance.

Ok so no no on that oil then.my cylinder looks ok but im gonna have it honed out anyways.also thank everyone for there help.yes my piston ring looks like it may have grabbed a port do to pin wear on piston.ive also notice skirt on piston starting to crack.glad that didnt brake and blow threw case like alot do that ive seen
