Pinging on low rpms

when it gets to the low rpms in the gears it sounds like it pinging and cutting off but still runs good could the main jet be to lean? i have a 148 in a 30mm cpw carb

could be piston slap, depends on the sound

idk its been doing it for a little while just want to try and fix it. would piston slap cause any problems?

piston slap is not good you could break of one of the skirts and ruin the cyl. wall. is it a high pitched pinging or a knock?

if you even question its a knock you need to remove the head and jug and inspect b4 its to late.

well if is not obvious that something is broken your going to have to start measuring the bore piston dia etc.

do u run reg gas or 93 oct?

if it was fuel related it would be a high pitched pinging sound like spark knock not a knock

its hard to describe. when i first start it and ride its fine but when it gets hot it sounds like it cuts off but there is no decrease in power and there is a little knock not a dead knock but it sounds high pitched

thats what i tried to explain to him. that he should probably tear it down and inspect.

almosts sounds normal, blastys always make noise, mine kinda does what u r describing

i have been riding with it like that for a little while and it still runs fine and hasnt lost any compression. would you be able to take a video so i can be sure

mine also makes a little noise when its idleing. it even did when it was brand new.
