I've tried different lubricants and nothing seems to work. I've tried letting it penetrate. But still no luck.
I almost have to use pliers just to turn it.
PLEASE GIVE ME AND IDEA
Thanks
Stacy

The rubber inside may have expanded with time and needs replacing.

Be careful with the pliers the lever can break easily.

I have a similar issue, after a petcock rebuild (OEM parts) mine was rather tight too, but can be turned...
I had fitted an inline shutoff previously, when the petcock was leaking.
I use that most of the time when riding, for convenience.

The only time I use the petcock is when I need to take the carb off.

I leave it turned on at all other times, have found it to be a dangerous practice running out of fuel on the apex of the first jump on the track!

drain the gas out. take the two screws off that hold it and check to see if the backing plate is warped if it is straighten it. it will help...not sure what that part is called so im calling it the plate ...:)

See, I did something like that...

I put a 400 main jet in it and use the in-line on/off valve to get the jetting just right for the current section by turning it on and off really quickly. Helps save gas, too.

Nah, I coated my wife's in 2T oil when I rebuilt it. Something about dry rubber that sees rotation or reciprocation just drives me up a wall. I always lube them up a bit because it makes them a bit easier to turn.

Maybe I'm thinking about the R that had the rubber piece... They all run together after a while.
