I had a rattle in the expansion pipe, I was told it was a baffle broken loose, and was annoying the hell out of me. I wanted to hold off on a new exhaust, so I fixed the problem. I found a collector cone inside that broke off. I used my MIG welder to stitch it back up and a coat of flat exhaust paint, Im good to go Here's an inside look.

Thanks Awk I:I

Yes and that mesh SUCKED to weld, I had to use the TIG welder @ 40 amps, and it was still a pain. Only downside to this.

Coming from inside the pipe while welding was the smell of a two stroke...smelt gooouud

There's no baffles inside. Just a collector cone that helps the exhaust find the exit.

I welded the cone back on. I wanted no change, and keeping it stock. Im riding with my FIL on Friday (aka brownie points ) and it runs great as it is.

nice my welding is horible

Yes, good welding takes practice. Dont say you are bad at something because you are unexperienced. Im sure he didnt just start welding with no practice. And TIG is the hardest, i tried that a few times, went okay but you need to know basic welding first

I have slight vision issues hard to see what im doing through the shield

I started welding when i was 14. I knew thats what i wanted to do after high school. Ive been with the same company going on 16 yrs as a pipe welder...and im still learning!

Almost everyone has trouble viewing the weld through a welding hood. Finding the right shade, and after some time your eye adjust. If you have vision problems, they make a cheater lenes that fits inside the hood.
