I was thinking of painting my plastic and frame/swingarm/a-arms. I would like some opinions on what kind of spray paint products should i use that will hold up the best and give a great NEW SHINE look to it. any suggestion's will be appreciated....thanks

For the plastic the best would be professionally sprayed with flex agents. Like the kind on urethane bumpers would hold up a long time. I doubt you would want to pay that much though. Krylon fusion will work well If you do a good job with the prep work sanding and cleaning. I purposely bent my 3 wheeler plastics no chipping whatsoever, but It will scratch like regular car paint. With all the steel parts you could just use automotive paint and a good primer.

Just make sure you dont skimp on the prep work. Check out my blaster, it used to be red and I painted all my plastics and have had absolutely no problems with chipping. Be careful if you use the Krylon fusion spray paint, it doesnt seem to work as good as it says.

Wow you painted those??? they really look good. I used the fusion and its good, but I wouldnt count on it holding up as well as standard plastic. My suzuki has held up perfect but I have been careful with it just in case.

Thanks alot, like I said just do a VERY good prep job and buy some decent paint and you shouldnt have ne problems. Like you said you may have to be a bit careful with them. Mine doesnt see mud or ne thing like that to often so mine are fine and look the same as when I first did them, pretty good I think for white. (Lots of cleaning though) LOL

exactly...prep work is 90% of it especially with plastic.

Also, if you get that engine paint from the auto parts store spray it on let it dry and hit it with a propane torch it kind of "bakes" the paint on. I have not done it personally because I PC everything now but my friend says that it works great.

PS only bake the paint onto metal please...i dont want you people coming to me saying "but you said I could bake the paint onto my plastics"

The best thing to use on plastics is autobody paint.
the best way I know how to do it is:
Wet sand 500-600 grit.
Get an adhesion promotor like bulldog or duplicolor adhesion promotor.(can find at autozone.)
Then use autobody paint (find at most auto stores)
Then a autobody ployurathan(sp?) clear coat (find at most auto stores)

If your on a budget I've had realy good luck with Krylon Industrial Osha spray paint. Its not glossy but its extremely strong, I've ran screw drivers, razor blades, bent the hell out of them, and never chipped or scratched it. the only way I can take it off is with paint stripper.

i think i like ur blaster the way it its...dont paint plastics..just frame and othere stuff..i think it would look sick with brack frame and swinger and a arms and leave red front and back fenders and black gas cover ad hood would look sick!!

everyone says to do proper prep? and id likek to no what that is in details, any help

Prep work involves cleaning every thing, sanding and using adhesion promoter or a sand able primer. Prep work also varies with what your doing, some things need sand blasted, or rust has built up and you need to use a rust converting primer. If you pc you need to ground the part so the powder will stick. The 1 most important thing to remember is to clean your part, esp old bikes with grease and oil built up on the frame, or plastics. Paint will NOT stick for long on plastic with wax or dust.

Hope this helps any

yes it does the main theing i wanna do is paint my plastics but does it need to be fine sanded or kinda ruff it up so the paint will stick better. i dono?

Yes. sand them with like 300 or 320 grit sand paper, then use 2 or more coats of self rising primer. then get out your sanding block and sand with 800 grit sand paper (be careful on the edges) until smooth. From there you can use whatever paint you want:)(I personally love Krylon Industrial Osha spray paint, its not glossy but very tough.)
