paid

who thinks that if a man has made some mistakes that if he paid for those mistakes he should be done and not have it over his head forever?

Loaded question ...Depends what the mistake was murder ,rape ,shoplifting, removing the warning label off youre new matress ?

drug possetion with intent to sell 8 yrs

well this is how i see it everyone makes mistakes but noone should try to make dirty money because ur endangering somone elses life with a harmful drug that cud kill them. Then again i do see that there our certain situations where ur in a bad spot and that may have gotten u out of that bad spot but me as a person i think that if there is a will there is always a way to make money the clean way :D

I agree with this ^^^

I am not going to let my kids hang out with some dude that did time for murder or rape.

But someone who fell on hard times and did something stupid, sure. Everyone deserves a second chance, especially if they changed their ways.

well said I have never had a violent crime am all legit now and I cant own a gun or hold certain jobs I paid but its still not enough for society

In theory, you can make an application to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) to request restoration of your gun rights. The application is supposedly granted if "it is established . . . that the circumstances . . . and the applicant's record and reputation, are such that the applicant will not be likely to act in a manner dangerous to public safety and that the granting of the relief would not be contrary to the public interest."

Well... Laws are made for a reason, and no laws will be broken under special occasions because you want something back...

Be glad its not other countries, they have more strict laws.
In some, one DUI/DWI and they are shot by a firing squad....

In some cases laws have that fine line. And being that it's a strict federal law, they have to do some research. Some people think they will be handed information on how to regain ones rights. It's not that easy, and no laws will or can be broken in the long and tedious process. It can take up to 15 yrs. to regains the right to own or posses a firearm in some cases.

Yes, but rules are rules. They are there for a reason. People know the consequence before they do something...

Im not saying anything against you or anyone, but just my opinion

You did it once and you learned your lesson. You do it twice then you can't be trusted. Depends on what to like drug wise.
