oversize piston

I have a piston that measures out 2.627 inch and a bore of 2.638. What oversize would work best? thank you?

Have you measured the bore at different places.

Is the bore out of round.

Are there any scratches/ scores?

You take the bore to suit the oversize piston that will be required.

we usually do our math in MM's here.
so, you've got a 66.72mm piston in a 67mm bore.

the next size bore/piston above that is 67.25 or .050 over stock bore

Does anyone else see that the current piston could be a 30 over piston in a 40 over bore? Did it run like that? .010 ptw clearance is crazy I cant see the bore wearing 10 thou

top of piston measures 66.65 mm piston on the sides measure 66.62 the bore measures 66.89 mm

What are you using to measure the bore an were are you measuring it at, you sh*t keeps changing,

the bore im measuring the inside of the cylinder walls

You are using a bore gauge to measure the cylinder are you, if so you need to measure the upper and lower reaches, also at 90deg intervals to find the area of most wear.

Ok well, the measurements you posted are all unusable to help you determine were you need to be, besides that a worn out top end doesn't make a clunk an die, something broke in that engine, what was it?

Measure the piston @ 90 degrees to the pin and about 1/2 " from the bottom of the skirt. Pistons are not round.
