overheating?

i have a Honda Rancher and i was riding it today and it died a couple time like i would just be riding and it would die and the fan would stay on i think it might be over heating but i am not sure any one have any ideas or suggestions?

just put your hand by the engine and if it feels super hot from like 6-12 inches away.. you are having a overheat

my 02 rancher is air cooled with no fan and it will get hotter than sh*t if your just puttin along for about 30 mins, but if you ride it about 3/4 throttle for a couple minutes it cools right back down!! so were you just moving slow? or is it liquid cooled?

well i wasnt goin slow i was goin about 40 when it was dieing, it has a radiator and ya it was hot from a couple inches away and my leg was real hot

you might have a blown head gasket! and try blowing out your radiator with air!!

how can i check if its blown?

is there oil in the water or water in the oil? these are uauslly the first two things you'll notice!! it'll look kind of foamy on top if there is!!! you'll be able to tell!!!

Does it have a temperature light on the dash? Unless that light comes on when it shuts off, I doubt it's overheating. I think it's more likely something related to vapor lock from a bad gas cap, or something like that.

get rid of it , problem solved lol jk , prolly somethin simple to find out , but hard to fix , i hate honda rancher's

Nothing yet has proven that it overheated, just that it shut off. A bad gas cap can cause vapor lock (air not getting into the tank) which will eventually cut off fuel flow.

It's all relative. The phrase "getting hot" doesn't mean a whole lot to me unless i'm actually there to see it happen. Hondas run hot to begin with, and he didn't mention that the high temp light came on, so i'm assuming that it didn't truly overheat. If it did in fact shut off from overheating, it would have caused some engine damage that would have been noticed the next time it was started.

hi i just bought a used 2000 yamaha blaster and the guy said it has v-force reeds in it..i dont no exactly the model but the guy said you need to run premium octane 93 in it. is this true? and if so why would you have to do this? and are the reeds worth the trouble u no like power wise? thanks
