My buddy has a blaster when you first start it up the. Motor takes off like crazy, you can't use the key to turn it off you have to choke it out. After a couple if times doing this it will idle fine. Or as soon as you start it when it is over revving you can pull out and it clears up then run for awhile and it will idle. The tors system is not hooked up. Any help would be great

could be any number of things....frayed or sticking throttle cable, in the throttle itself, carb slide in wrong/sticking, floats not adjusted right/hanging up causing lean condition, fuel flow to carb, air leak, ect. ect.

time to start eliminating causes until you find it, and leakdown test it

u can always try using soap water or maybe spray around the the seams with carb cleaner see if it raises the idle. or do like im gonna when my motor is back together and order one from slick

I was having this exact problem and my throttle cable was kinked a bit inside the thumb throttle. if that is the case you will just need to replace the cable. mine also only did it when i first started cold, and after a couple times starting and shutting it down it would start idleing fine

This concerns me, it shouts lean idle setting, sticking float, fuel obstruction and carbon buildup within the confines of the combustion chamber.

If turning the key off the motor does not stop, either the fuel charge is being ignited by other means, or the plug has fallen off of the key assembly.

You may have an intermittent air leak, like a cracked carby boot, it would pay to do a leak test.

What heat range plug do you use?
