I am rebuilding my bottom end and I need an opinion. I am replacing the crank bearings and all seals. Should I replace the balancer bearings and the transmission bearings? These bearings seem to be ok but I want some opinions. Thanks for all and any info.

Well I guess is it really necessary. As these bearings arent cheap. I am not looking to hold someone responsible for any problems I may have, I am just unsure what to do.

Check to see if they roll smoothly before you spend the money. Have you ran the engine dry of oil? If so then there might be a chance that one or more will not roll smooth.

I have not ran the motor with out oil. I am replacing the crank bearings because they have a little up and down slop. All bearings spin very freely.

I have a 20ton press so getting them in or out isnt a problem. Do you still think they are fine left alone?

One of the balancer bearings is in a "blind" hole, you cant press it out!, it must be pulled out, and both balancer bearings should only lighten your wallet by about $7.

I cant find them for 7 dollars. I did find them for alittle more a piece. The tranny bearings are more pricey.

I got mine at the Mill Supply House, they were $3.25 each for KOYO's, I had to get the main bearings from Yamaha, those bearings are specific to the YFS200 crank (maybe other Yamaha's, but nothing else!)
