Hey guys, I'm Dave in southwest Ohio just north of Cincinnati. I'm 38 and haven't ridden in about 20 years, decided to buy a blaster to get back into it. Seems like a great bike, can get them inexpensive, and I love two strokes, they run!!

Have the blaster torn apart in the garage. It's a first gen, so I'm doing the banshee rear brake upgrade, putting new shoes on the front, and putting on some good trail tires. Runs great and althought compression feels a little low I'm just doing the basics so I can ride it!

I have a headlight issue, no voltage, any ideas there for me?

Cheers to everyone, anyone else from SW Ohio?

welcome to the site..

alot of guys are going to aftermarket lights.. as for no voltage the power comes from the stator you can only run 55w lights total watts. check your voltage regulator

You guys have some great looking blasters...

Thanks for the info, will check the stator and the voltage regulator and see what's up. New tires going on today to play in the snow!

Well, I decided to upgrade the brakes right off the bat. The bike runs awesome, but stops not so hot. Of course the back brake was the stock cable drive junk and had not been maintained, so I picked up a banshee hydraulic setup. With a little bit of fabrication work and some welding, I have some killer rear brakes, and it really looks like a factory setup. My trail tires run great in the snow, and I put new pads on the drums, I'm ready to ride Saturday!

Anyone in SW Ohio riding somewhere tomorrow? Looking for somewhere to ride!

Hi racerx - I haven't fixed the no voltage problem yet, but swapping a stator isn't too bad. I haven't been able to ride yet because of the brakes which I fixed yesterday so hoping to get on the trail soon!

Will let you know when I look at that issue, I found the service manual online at scribd.com which details how to troubleshoot the electrical system, so I will be working through that process soon. :)

Yea, it runs like a top. Saw the voltage regulator on the frame, will check the voltage there. Thanks for the advice, much appreciated.
